It is most important you follow the instructions given with this color remover. I would add that once the color remover was in my hair I wrapped my head in cling film and used a gentle heat hair dryer which helps the product to work. I had 100% success

It will remove all the brown. Try a good toner to remove all yellow/copper bits out of your hair too. Make sure you condition it well to get moisture back in
