The Wedi sealant is a waterproof caulk designed specifically for sealing Wedi panels and joining Wedi shower systems. It sets very fast, in approximately 30 minutes to an hour, and is very thick like caulk. To use, unscrew the pointed cap, razor-cut the top of the tube off to create a larger hole to allow it to flow more freely, and then screw the pointed cap back on to control the flow. It can be used with concrete backer board or Hardie board, and even for gaps between bathtub lips and backer boards. It is suggested to tape a straight line on the tub or surface before caulk application so that it is easier to clean up later by removing the tape. The majority of customer reviews rated this product very highly, with many reviewers stating that the product functioned as described, filled gaps and made an excellent adhesive for creating steps or shelves with Wedi board. However, some customers reported that the product can be a little difficult to work with and that it can set up really fast.
