Lidocaine deadens the nerve-endings in the skin and surrounding tissue for a numbing effect, while the Phenylephrine HCL shrinks the swollen hemorrhoidal tissue. White petroleum and mineral oil, the other active ingredients in RectiCare Advanced Cream, provide a protective coating over inflamed tissues for an additional layer of comfort between applications.
