The touch lamp control dimmer switch works well with regular light bulbs, but it doesn't work well with LED or CFL bulbs. The electronics in new LED and CFL bulbs don't allow for 120 volts to pass through the bulb to the controller while the bulb is off. This means that the incandescent bulb's filament that acts like a simple wire for these devices can't be used. If you need to replace the touch control because of a faulty bulb, you may want to try a smart bulb, but having to give voice commands to a bed lamp is not cool. While the size of the Westek Touch Lamp Control Dimmer Switch may seem big to some individuals, it's not cumbersome.
