The Celestron Astromaster 90EQ Telescope is recommended for observing the rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter, and brighter objects in the Messier and NGC catalogs, depending on how light-pollution-free your skies are. The telescope comes with two eyepieces, a starpointer, a German equatorial mount, an accessory tray, and sky planetarium software. The red dot finder requires a 3V CR2032 battery, and the telescope itself does not require any batteries to use. The tripod is quite heavy and stable, but the telescope is light and easy to wiggle in use. Customers recommend using a weight in the center of the tripod to help reduce the vibrations. Although some customers experienced issues with the mount and the cheaply made red dot finder, the overall quality of the telescope is decent for its price. Customers recommend buying higher quality lenses for it.
