Action & Adventure Editorial Review
The Siege Widescreen Edition "The Siege" is a film that stands out due to its well-developed characters and portrayal of multiple factions involved in a terrorism-related plot. While the depicted incidents may seem minor compared to real-life events, the movie offers an interesting exploration of the divisions between the FBI, CIA, and US Army, with Denzel Washington, Annette Benning, and Bruce Willis delivering strong performances. The power struggle between the FBI and the US Army over jurisdiction adds an intriguing element to the storyline and leaves room for contemplation. Paying close attention to detail while watching may offer additional insight. On the positive side, the movie is praised for its good plot and acting. Samuel L. Jackson's performance is particularly highlighted as great. Additionally, the film is described as action-packed and manages to hold the audience's attention until the end. However, some reviewers feel that the content of the movie is a bit shallow. While the overall plot may sound interesting on paper, it fails to deliver an enjoyable experience for some. A particular criticism is directed towards one of the actresses, with her expressions described as "weird" and detrimental to the overall enjoyment of the movie. Despite the star power of Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis, "The Siege" falls short of being a smash hit. Overall, "The Siege" is an older movie that, despite some shortcomings, offers compelling characters and keeps the audience engaged until the closing credits.
