Drama Editorial Review

"The Florida Project" is an unexpected and insightful portrayal of a community of people living in poverty just a half-mile outside of Disney World. The film follows the story of Halley, a young mother, and her daughter Moonee, as they navigate their daily lives in a budget hotel called Magic Castle Inn. The film offers a stark and unflinching look at people who have been forgotten and overlooked. The cinematography is stunning, with great shots particularly at night, and the acting is good throughout. Willem Dafoe stands out as Bobby, the caretaking and responsive manager. The little girl who plays Moonee steals the show and delivers a heartwarming performance. However, some viewers may find the film anxiety-inducing, with no likable characters and an unenjoyable atmosphere. Overall, "The Florida Project" is worth watching for its unique and poignant portrayal of a community on the margins of society.
