The Clear Museum Gel is a product that can be used to adhere collectibles and other valuables to surfaces to prevent them from falling or sliding off. It is a viscous fluid that is designed to work on glass on horizontal surfaces or any non-porous surface. The product seems to be an incompletely cured silicone rubber that holds things in place with a natural stickiness instead of any solvent bonds. The gel is crystal clear and works best for anchoring glass or china to glass. To remove the adhered item, a Q tip dipped in acetone or nail polish remover can be used around the glass or china bottom. The Gel works wonders to keep items in place, and it has been used to keep wooden zip-lock and foil storage containers, countertop items, and divider squares in place. It can also be used in brass candle stick holders to keep the smaller bottom candles in place or to affix a small metal object like a quarter. While the gel is great indoors in normal temperatures, it may not work well on wood surfaces. It should not be used to hang pictures as it is only suitable for use on shelves or counters.
