The prep work is crucial before applying this product, so it is advised to use a 120 grit sandpaper over the bottom and clean the entire surface with acetone. There are mixed reviews about applying this product over an existing coating, but it is recommended to strip all the paint off the hull before applying the Super Slick. The product is not suitable for polymer-coated boats or inflatable boats. The application process requires a heavy coat on the bottom and thinner on the sides, as the product is pretty thick.
