The Pixy2 camera is designed for image tracking and is capable of recognising specified colors, but it cannot recognize shapes. It runs a color connected components algorithm that produces a lower effective resolution than its image sensor specs. The camera can recognize objects automatically using its line following mode, but it can also be manually programmed using PixyMon software. The camera's libraries are in C++, but they can be called from Python using "extern C". The Pixy2 has a field of view of 60 degrees horizontally and 40 degrees vertically, and it does not pick up IR light. It can be used for outdoor applications such as following colored objects but may not be practical for security cameras.
