The AKG Pro Audio P2 High-Performance Dynamic Bass Microphone is a popular mic for bass drums, bass amps, and low instruments. It has a great deep bass tone with no mid scoop and no hum from RF interference. However, the highs can be too bright for some users, but can always be cut. The clip attachment is a weak spot in the design as it can easily strip and break. It is suggested to have a dedicated 5/8" mic stand and to never remove the mic from it. Other than that, the mic is sturdy and has a solid look and feel. Users say that the mesh looks perfect and the sound reproduction is excellent. Many recommend it for bass cabs and live events. However, some suggest that for a pre-EQ'd can't-miss kick sound, users should go with the e602 or beta52. Overall, the AKG Pro Audio P2 High-Performance Dynamic Bass Microphone is a great budget option for those looking to record bass instruments.
