The A1 has combined all the top features from the 7S, 7R and 9 lines into one camera model. The battery life of Sony A1 is short-lived, and users suggest investing in a second or third battery. However, the good news is that the batteries from other Alpha cameras are compatible with the A1 camera. The camera is easy to use, intuitive access to controls, and includes a redesigned menu system similar to the A7SIII. It does not include a built-in flash, and there is only one card per slot. The camera body is manufactured in Thailand. The video quality of the camera is full-frame, up to 4K 120FPS. However, video overheating depends on shooting format and environmental factors. On the downside, the viewfinder of the camera blacks out when the sun is behind the user, leading to missed photo opportunities. However, Sony aims to fix this defect. The Sony A1 camera is great for family portraits, underwater wildlife and landscape video, and an ideal hybrid photo/video camera. The auto-focus and tracking are key features, especially when capturing photos of birds in flight. The eye focus for animals is spot on.
