GONZO Garden Stakes 5036 Editorial Review
The Gonzo 5036 Gopher Shield, crafted from stainless steel mesh, has garnered a generally positive reception among gardeners dealing with pesky gophers and other rodent problems. Customers appreciate the product for its practical design, noting that it provides a one-time solution to protect delicate plant roots from destruction. The ability to shape the shields into various configurations makes them versatile, and many users find them easier to manage than traditional rigid wire cages or DIY solutions. While the shields are described as lightweight and flexible, which adds to their convenience, some users have pointed out that their smaller size—approximately six inches across—limits their use for larger plants or bulbs. Nonetheless, this makes them ideal for small seedlings or individual bulbs, where adequate protection is essential, especially against voracious gophers and voles. Reviewers praised the mesh's loose weave, which allows roots to penetrate while still providing a barrier against rodents, suggesting that they function effectively in gardens where chemical repellents might be rejected for organic gardening practices. Skepticism arose from a few users concerning the potential durability of the shields against determined pests, with some expressing concerns over the possibility of rodents chewing through the mesh. However, many are optimistic about their long-term efficacy based on initial experiences. Overall, customers are satisfied with the product's quality, ease of use, and protective capabilities, finding it a worthwhile investment for their gardening endeavors. **
