It is recommended to let the tray sit for 30-60 minutes after filling, then tapping the sides to purge bubbles from the lower compartments before placing in the freezer. The water levels should be topped off before leaving in the freezer for 36 hours. The clear ice should stay fresh for at least 30 days. Some customers have experienced mixed results with bubbles forming in the lowest portion of the tray. Removing the cubes from the tray can be challenging, but with planning, it can be done.
