"Virgins of Bali" is a black and white film from the early 50s that offers a unique perspective on Bali life from the 1930s. The quality at the start of the film may be unwatchable, but it improves after the initial scenic part. The film primarily focuses on young topless girls of Bali, providing an interesting view into their culture. It also portrays scenes of village life, including discussions of marriage customs. However, there is a middle section that seems out of place, featuring an infomercial about Bali brand bras and models wearing bullet-shaped bras. The last third of the film is a travel sequence that repeats many scenes from the beginning without focusing on the bare-breasted girls. Despite its flaws, "Virgins of Bali" is recommended for those interested in documentaries about Balinese culture.
