The SHURflo 8005-733-155 Demand Pump has a 1.5 GPM flow rate with a built-in check valve, demand switch, and 45psi internal bypass that can be mounted in any position. It is compact and designed for long trouble-free life. The pump can run dry without damage and is self priming up to 8 vertical feet. It has 1/2" -14 Male Parallel threaded ports, Santoprene® diaphragm, and is UL Recognized Component, NSF, and CSA listed. The pump runs off electricity, either 12 volts or 120 volts depending on the pump, and does not turn on with water pressure. The product is suitable for outdoor use in a covered patio in Florida but should not be submerged in water. This pump is a replacement for the 8000 543 236 model on a 27 gal. spotlyte sprayer if the fittings can be adapted and need to change from 12 volt DC to 110 volt AC. The pump can be used for drinking water, as long as it's fresh water, but will not work properly with vegetable oil. Overall, the customer reviews are mixed, with some experiencing pump failures and other issues. Some reviewers had excellent quality products that worked for an extended period of time, while others experienced pump failure after only a few months or weeks. Some found the installation easy, while others experienced issues such as the pump not turning on when the faucet was closed. One reviewer did not recommend the product.
