The AIMS Power SCC80AMPPT is an upgrade to a previous solar charge controller system. It can charge 12, 24, 36 and 48 Volt Solar Systems with its 4 Stage Charging feature. The product also has a Battery Type Selector and Over Temp Protection. Some customers had trouble understanding how to update some of the settings, as no antenna or wifi is built-in, and the charge controller does not automatically adjust for different time zones. The internal clock requires proper settings. Another noteworthy problem is that there is no external view unless the unit is connected to a main view. The charge controller has high voltage protection after 100V, but if the voltage is too high, there are chances of the charge controller getting damaged or destroyed. To avoid such situations, the customers must plan the solar array and its connection carefully to avoid over-voltage connections. We can also find some advantages of this product, such as easy to use, works great, cost-effective, and has a great combination of price and quality.
