Action & Adventure Editorial Review
"The Hunted Widescreen Edition" is an action-packed movie set in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, featuring superb performances by Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio Del Toro. The film is praised for its intense fight scenes and just the right amount of gore, offering a captivating storyline of a soldier struggling with PTSD and fighting for his life and freedom against the very man who trained him. The movie is commended for its gripping portrayal of knife fights and the impressive performance of Jones, who was almost 60 at the time of filming. However, some viewers found the movie disappointing, criticizing the unrealistic portrayal of hunting and survival skills, as well as the questionable actions of the characters. There were complaints about the inaccuracies in portraying hunting, the lack of preparation by the characters, and the unrealistic combat scenes involving the aging protagonist. Additionally, some reviewers found the writing and directing to be subpar, feeling embarrassed for the talented actors involved.
