Although the product itself may seem like a quick fix, in reality, the plastic material is a potential hazard, especially when it's attached to two hot surfaces such as the engine and the hydraulic pump. A mounting bracket made from a stronger material such as aluminum or steel would be a better choice. However, the bracket did work for some customers' needs. It's an easy solution for reusing an old steel mount on a log splitter that needs a different-style pump mount. It lines up and easily bolts together with a standard 6.5 hp motor and a 13gpm hydraulic pump. The mounting threads are very weak and easy to break, meaning that they do not withstand overtightening. Customers who purchased the bracket found the lack of included bolts inconvenient, but they were able to source them locally.
