It may fit on an FR Special, but it would be better to get this baseplate and a set of FR 1000 or FR Original saddles and string blocks instead. Overall, customers have had a positive experience with this product. It fits perfectly and is of good quality. However, installation can be difficult and time-Consuming, especially with a 4WD/AWD vehicle. Some users had to remove the motor mount and raise the engine to install it. Others had to remove the fan and upper shroud, as well as the alternator and power steering bracket. It is recommended to get a helper and protect the ends of the pipes during installation. There were also some complaints about the lack of included O-rings.
