It is suggested to purchase additional blades and change them often to maintain precision. It is also noted to use a scrap piece of mat board below the product to ensure the cutter lasts for decades. This cutter is designed to cut standard sheets of mat board 40" long and can save you money by preserving the drops from each mat to use for double and triple mats in the future. The main complaint is that the product does not come with an instruction booklet.
