About This Item
Introducing the Sherline 3.5-Inch x 17-Inch CNC Lathe – the perfect addition to your workshop! This high-precision lathe machine is CNC-ready, which means that you can easily install stepper motors to bring your projects to life. Please note that stepper motors are not included with your purchase. Sherline is a name synonymous with quality, and this miniature lathe machine is no exception. The CNC-ready design means that you can order the machine ready for stepper motors and Computer Numeric Control (CNC).
Sherline has even gone the extra mile by installing stepper motor mounts in place of the leadscrew and crosslide handwheels. The mounts are designed to accept 23-frame size stepper motors, ensuring compatibility and ease of use. Measuring 3.5 inches in swing over bed and 17 inches in distance between centers, this Sherline 3.5-Inch Lathe is perfect for a range of projects. The hole through the spindle is .405 inches, while the spindle nose thread is 3/4″-16 T.P.I.
The spindle nose taper is #1 Morse, while the tailstock spindle taper is #0 Morse. The Sherline CNC Lathe comes with a protractor that has graduations ranging from 0° to 45° by 5°, as well as a handwheel with graduations of .001″ (.01 mm). The length of the machine overall is 32.5 inches, while the width and height overall measure at 8.00 inches. This Sherline metal lathe comes with a 90-volt DC motor that has an electronic speed control which accepts any incoming current from 100VAC to 240 VAC, 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The spindle speed range is 70-2800 RPM, which is continuously variable by electronic speed control. Made in the USA, this Sherline 17-inch Lathe is perfect for your home workshop or small business.
