The 4M Glow in The Dark Solar System Mobile Making Kit is a build-it-yourself solar system that comes with plastic glow-in-the-dark planets, a full set of snap-together planets, hangars, string, and detailed instructions. It’s marketed as an ideal educational toy, providing kids with an opportunity to learn more about the solar system, planets and stars. Unfortunately, from the reviews, it is evident that the product doesn’t perform as advertised. The plastic bubble shells that are supposed to fit into notches on the cardboard planets don’t work correctly, and the cardboard tears. Also, the holes in the cardboard planets aren’t cut all the way through, making it difficult to fit the shells properly. The string provided does not stay tied to the plastic planets, and the cardboard planets are flimsy, making it almost impossible to assemble properly. Several of the plastic domes do not have pre-cut holes, causing one of the planets to rip. The included string does not hold a knot, making it challenging to tie the planets together. While the product is marketed for children, the target age group may have trouble with the assembly, with many reviews stating it’s too complicated for young children. The mobile is not stable, and several reviews report that it fell apart immediately after assembly.
