Although they may not work with wooden tracks or other Thomas & Friends trains due to their larger size, they work great on Trackmaster track sets which are included in the set. The trains are powered by AAA batteries which have a good lifespan, and they don't make much noise compared to other train sets. However, some customers have experienced difficulty with the trains making it up an incline or over bridges due to their less powerful nature. It is also worth noting that some customers have reported that the trains can easily fall off the tracks with slight changes in their path.
