It's a perfect visual indicator of coolant flow to the spindle and helps avoid clogs. Reviewers also found the product useful for other purposes such as monitoring flow in a continuous mining system or indicating fluid flow such as in enema bags. The indicator does not provide readouts of flow rates, but movement indicates flow. It works well with tubing sizes 3/8"-1/2" and 3/8"-5/8" and 5/16" or 1/4" tubing works best with it. The barbs on it are also available in three separate sizes. It may be a flow restriction for tubing sizes larger than 1/2 inch ID.
