"The Devil is a Part-Timer! Vol. 12 (Manga)" is a must-have for the fans of the franchise as it provides rare events not covered in anime or previously translated light novels. The manga is based on the Light Novel, and due to its unique side story nature, very little of the main story is progressed with main events only referenced. It provides a glimpse of some original non-anime, non-light novel Maou and Gang adventures with great world and character building. However, the story and events seem more like a slice-of-life filler at times. There are some foreshadowing hints given in the book that begin in light novels #8 and #10. The characters are portrayed well and their actions and relationships are explored with some insight into farming. The story ends on a cliffhanger.
